Wide Forefoot Fit Guide

STEPREADY COMFORT & FIT GUIDE

More Room Where Your Foot Needs It.

A wide forefoot needs usable space around the toes and ball of the foot—not simply a longer shoe. Learn what to check before choosing your everyday walking pair.

UNDERSTAND YOUR FIT

Wide Forefoot Does Not Always Mean a Wide Foot.

Some people need more room only across the front of the foot while the heel and midfoot remain relatively regular. Choosing a longer size just to gain width can create unwanted toe space and heel movement.

A better fit balances a relaxed forefoot with a controlled midfoot and heel.

QUICK SELF-CHECK

Four Signs You May Need More Forefoot Room.

01

Toe compression

Your toes feel crowded or cannot move naturally.

02

Side pressure

You feel pressure where the foot bends at the ball.

03

Upper stretching

The upper pulls tightly or bulges across the forefoot.

04

Heel fits, front does not

The heel feels right, but the front of the shoe feels tight.

MEASURE BEFORE ORDERING

A Better Three-Step Size Check.

Feet can change through the day. Measure both feet under the same conditions in which you expect to wear the shoes.

1

Measure later in the day

Stand with full weight on both feet and wear the socks you normally use for walking.

2

Measure both feet

Compare heel-to-toe length and the widest point across the forefoot. Use the larger foot as your guide.

3

Check shape, not only length

If you are between sizes, compare the size guide and allow for any insert you plan to use.

INDOOR FIT CHECK

What a Good Walking-Shoe Fit Should Feel Like.

Toes move naturally

No pinching or forced overlap.

Forefoot feels relaxed

No sharp pressure across the sides or ball of the foot.

Heel stays controlled

No excessive lifting or sliding during normal walking.

Length feels balanced

Enough space ahead of the longest toe without feeling oversized.

Upper does not distort

The material should not pull severely across the widest point.

Insert feels compatible

Added insoles should not make the shoe uncomfortably tight.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Wide Forefoot Fit FAQ

Should I simply size up for more width?

Not automatically. A longer size may add unwanted space in front of the toes and allow the heel to move. Compare both length and forefoot measurements before deciding.

How much room should I have in front of my toes?

You should have a small amount of comfortable space ahead of the longest toe while the heel remains secure. Your toes should not touch the front during normal walking.

Will an added insole change the fit?

It can. A thicker insert reduces interior volume and may make the forefoot feel tighter. Test the full combination indoors before wearing the shoes outside.

Does StepReady W1 come in 2E or 4E?

No. W1 is not currently offered using standardized 2E or 4E width labels. Contact support if you need help comparing your current fit with W1.

Can I return the shoes if the fit is not right?

Eligible shoes may be returned within 30 days after delivery. Try them indoors on a clean surface and review the Return & Refund Policy. Return shipping applies to fit or preference returns.
